At Batan, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data. We have written it in plain language — no legal jargon.

We collect information you provide directly to us when you sign up for the Batan waitlist, create an account, or contact us for support. This includes your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide.
When you use Batan, we automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, device information, and pages visited. This data helps us understand how our service is used and how to improve it.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Batan does not store or have access to your credit card number or full payment details. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Batan's services. Specifically, we use your information to:
Process your subscription and manage your account; send you transactional emails including price alerts, supplier change notifications, and account confirmations; respond to your comments, questions, and support requests; send you marketing communications about Batan features, updates, and promotions (you may opt out at any time); monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the product; and comply with legal obligations.
We will never sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
With service providers who assist us in operating Batan, including Lemon Squeezy (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), Supabase (database infrastructure), and OpenAI (AI-powered supplier analysis). Each of these providers is contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
In response to a legal request, court order, or government demand if we believe disclosure is required by law. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case we will notify affected users before their information is transferred.
We do not share your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you cancel your subscription or request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
Aggregated, anonymized usage data that cannot identify you personally may be retained indefinitely for product analytics and improvement purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
The right to access the personal information we hold about you; the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information; the right to request deletion of your personal data; the right to object to or restrict our processing of your data; the right to data portability (receiving your data in a structured, machine-readable format); and the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

We take the security of your personal information seriously. Batan uses industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted data storage, access controls limiting who can access your data, and regular security reviews.
While we implement these safeguards, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information using commercially reasonable means.
8. Children's Privacy
Batan is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete that information.
9. International Data Transfers
Batan is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using Batan, you consent to this transfer. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (at the address associated with your account) and by posting a notice on the Batan website at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of Batan after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
